Apparently not even going into labor can keep celebs from tweeting. At least that seems to be the case with new mom and member of the E! fam, Kimora Lee Simmons. The Phat Fashions CEO took to her Twitter page late Friday night to let the world know that her baby was on the way.
Tweeted Simmons, "It's time!! No turning back! At hospital in labor right now!!," followed shortly after by, "Having contractions now! Ooo- wee! It's like WHOA! Love & Light, KLS." She was even nice enough to send along a TwitPic from her hospital bed—looking nothing short of glamorous, of course. Sixteen hours later, E! News can confirm that Simmons and her partner, Djimon Hounsou, are now proud parents. Says her rep, "Kimora and Djimon's son was born Saturday morning, May 30th." The face of Baby Phat and the Oscar-nominated actor have been together since March 2007, following her split from Russell Simmons. The two Simmons' share custody of their daughters, Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 6. This is Hounsou's first child. Simmons and her gorgeous girls currently star on her hit reality show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane on E! sister station, The Style Network. While she has yet to tweet her new son's name, we're sure that as soon as Simmons is well-rested and back to her fabulous self, we'll receive the update—via TwitterBerry, of course. (Eonline)

Funnyman Will Ferrell will go to great lengths to promote movies - he ate a raw reindeer eyeball as part of the press build up for his new film Land Of The Lost. The Anchorman star agreed to spend two days with survival expert Bear Grylls in the frozen Swedish wilderness to promote his upcoming movie on the Brit's reality TV show Man Vs. Wild. Ferrell learned how to make snow shoes from twigs and light a signal fire - but he could have done without the culinary delights of the trip. He tells Entertainment Weekly, "I did eat the cornea of a reindeer. Bear cut out this little gelatinous disc from the eyeball and was like, 'Here, try this!' Ferrell admits the taste and texture was disgusting. (Teen Hollywood)
Nicole Richie's stint in rehab did more than cure her addictions - the crisis also brought her warring parents back together. The socialite's adopted parents, singer Lionel Richie and mum Brenda, split in 1988 when she was aged five. It was followed by a bitter divorce in 1993 which saw the superstar and his wife barely on speaking terms amid allegations of the singer's infidelity. Richie admits relations between her parents didn't begin to heal until she was admitted to rehab in Arizona in 2003 to battle substance abuse problems. And the Simple Life star is convinced worrying about their daughter revived the bond between the former couple - who are now great friends. Nicole Richie tells TV talk show host Larry King, "I think I was 20 when they started talking. And they actually didn't start talking until I went to rehab. Now they're best friends. And it's really great." (Teen Hollywood)

The singer unveiled the spectacular gift at a special party at the pair's Dallas, Texas home, reports the National Enquirer. And the Dallas Cowboys quarterback was delighted with the custom-made gift. A source tells the tabloid, "Jessica knows that Tony has always wanted a boat. Paris Hilton has slated MTV ‘reality’ show, The Hills and insisted her boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt, won’t be making any more appearances on the show. Hill’s star Lauren Conrad famously dumped Reinhardt on the show but Paris has insisted it’s fake despite admitting she’d never seen it. “The show is, like, so lame and fake. He doesn't even want to be a part of it,” she told Us Weekly magazine. “They make up relationships when they’re not there, and he just thinks it's lame. I've never seen the show in my life. I have no idea what it's about. But he just thought it was cheesy." However, Hilton admitted Doug’s TV days aren’t over as she confirmed he will be appearing on the second season of her show, Paris Hilton's My New BFF. “He was always on set every single day, giving fun ideas. With him there, he always gave the most amazing ideas. They actually hired him as a producer to be on BFF Dubai. They loved his ideas so much." (Handbag)
Actor Shia Labeouf has slammed reports he was involved in a car accident in California on Thursday, while he is banned from driving. Comedian Jesse Coccoli claims LaBeouf bumped the rear of her car at an intersection in Los Feliz and stopped to exchange insurance information. She tells Celebuzz.com, "I think I said, 'I can't believe you just hit my car going two miles an hour,' and realized, it is him." Coccoli claims the pair chatted and joked before going their separate ways. But the Transformers star's representatives are accusing Coccoli of concocting the story - insisting LaBeouf was miles away at the time. A spokesperson says, "This story is completely fabricated. Shia was in Santa Monica with friends for the afternoon in question. This must be a clear case of mistaken identity." LaBeouf lost his license after he refused to give a breath sample following the Hollywood car crash that crushed his hand last year. The suspension ends in January 2010. (Teen Hollywood)
Los Angeles socialite Candy Spelling has sensationally revealed her daughter Tori's decision to cut her family out of her life killed her TV mogul father. Mother and daughter have waged a bitter war of words ever since Aaron Spelling died in 2006, with Candy recently going public with the fact she has yet to meet her grandchildren. But the relationship between her and actress-turned-reality TV star Tori has hit a new low thanks to remarks Candy made during a radio interview on Thursday morning. Spelling told the Kellogg Crew on 94.7 Wmas in Massachusetts that her daughter's estrangement from her parents "killed my husband. He just didn't want to live after that." She added, "He'd done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and then she wanted no part of him once he couldn't do anything for her." (Teen Hollywood)
Lindsay Lohan's worried father fears reports of romance reconciliation between his daughter and ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson are true - and the reunion will wreck the actress' career comeback. Rumors of a re-romance for the split pair have been rampant for days, and Michael Lohan can only hope they're not true. The investment banker, who had nothing but bad things to say about DJ Ronson during her relationship with his daughter, tells Wenn, "I am sure the reports are false. With friends like Sam, who needs enemies?" Lohan's father fears a reconciliation for the lesbian couple will wreck his daughter's return to acting after a series of flops and missed roles - but he admits it was inevitable Ronson would seek a reunion once her own DJ-ing career took a hit after the split. He adds, "I am just afraid that if Sam comes back into her life, her next movie will flop too. Sam has a habit of coming into Lindsay's life when Sam or her family need Lindsay to help boost their careers. "Mark my words, as Sam's fee and career flattens out, you will see her trying to get Lindsay back in the picture!" (Teen Hollywood)

THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Prince Harry reminded New Yorkers on Saturday how much his mother had loved their city, then climbed onto a pony for a rousing game of polo to raise money for impoverished children in Africa. On a brilliantly sunny day on Governors Island in New York Harbor, the 24-year-old prince drew a crowd that included stars like Madonna, actresses Kate Hudson and Chloe Sevigny, and rapper LL Cool J, but also lots of ordinary New Yorkers out for a rare sight: a polo game in the city. "You see this out in the Hamptons, but not so much in the city," said Vincent Hodgins of Manhattan, who brought his two sons to watch the prince play. The Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic was a fundraiser for Sentebale, the charity that Harry has set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help poor children and AIDS orphans in that small African nation surrounded by South Africa. "Prince Seeiso and I both lost our mothers when we were very young," Harry said in brief remarks before the match. "We set up Sentebale in their memory, and because my mother loved this city, it makes this occasion all the more poignant for me." His team, named after the charity, proceeded to defeat the opposing Black Watch team 6-5. Harry assisted on the winning goal in the last seconds, drawing the biggest cheer of the afternoon. Both teams included prominent polo stars like Argentine Nacho Figueras, also a Ralph Lauren model, who played for Black Watch. It was the second and final day of Harry's first official visit to the United States, which began with a sober visit Friday to the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. On Saturday morning, the prince toured Harlem's Children Zone, a community organization that offers families social and educational services. He and Prince Seeiso chatted with students working preparing for a Regents Exam. "Who's the best pupil?" Harry asked the ninth-graders. "I was always the worst!" Harry, the son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, is third in line to the British throne, after his father and older brother, William. He's been dubbed the "party prince," and his New York trip seemed designed partly to counter that image with a focus on his charity work. "I won't bore you with statistics, but please believe me when I say that Lesotho is a mere microcosm of what is so wonderful, but also so tragic about Africa today," he said before the match, reading from notes. "This beautiful kingdom has been ravaged by HIV/AIDS and poverty, leaving thousands of children without their parents." The event was free to the public, but guests in the VIP tent on the opposite side of the field had paid from $50,000 a table down to $500 a head to picnic on the lawn. In true polo-watching fashion, there were more hats than at an Easter parade; for the women, they were topped by flowers, feathers and even butterflies climbing up a wire trellis. Harry, though, was casual before the match in a navy blue blazer, open-collared shirt and white jeans, and loafers. And Madonna, accompanied by her sons, Rocco and David, was positively dressed down: She wore jeans and a denim jacket as she chatted with designer Marc Jacobs. In the bleachers, Mike Hallman, visiting the city from Cary, N.C., enjoyed the match with his family. "My kids have never seen polo before," he said. Added his 9-year-old son, Jason: "It's pretty exciting. I have never seen a prince." Another spectator who'd never seen a polo match was LL Cool J. "Hopefully, it'll be quite good," Harry told the singer during the reception. "Are you going to win?" LL Cool J asked. "Mmmm. I don't know. Hopefully it's fixed," joked Harry. The prince also said his visit had been "wonderful." "It's been a whirlwind," he told The Associated Press. "I haven't had a chance to let the jet lag set in, and it's time to go already." But his trip wasn't over after the match: Leaving Governor's Island, the prince took a Coast Guard cutter up the Hudson River to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Manhattan's west side. He spent about 30 minutes waving to visitors, inspecting the World War II aircraft carrier and checking out the cockpit of a retired British Airways Concorde jet. Museum president Bill White said the staff presented the prince with a section of the 1943 carrier's original wooden flight deck. The prince's visit began Friday morning with a prayerful stop at ground zero. There, he spent about 15 minutes quietly speaking to a half-dozen relatives of 9/11 victims. Harry then attached a wreath to a chain-link fence overlooking the Sept. 11 memorial under construction, bowing his head in silence for a few minutes. He also visited the firehouse across the street that houses Engine 10 and Ladder 10, which lost five members on Sept. 11, talking and laughing with firefighters there. Later Friday, Harry formally named the British Memorial Garden in Hanover Square downtown to honor the 67 British victims of the terrorist attack. He also visited Manhattan's Veterans Affairs Medical Center, touring a clinic that treats veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and the prosthetics facilities. (Daily Record)
She gave a final curtsey, a shimmy of her hips, and walked off stage, leaving the winners to perform an encore. But it's unlikely that finishing second on Britain's Got Talent Saturday night to a dance troupe called "Diversity" will be the end of Susan Boyle's showbiz dream. The 48-year-old church volunteer became an Internet phenomenon after she auditioned for the television talent show, her show-stopping voice combining with her frumpy appearance to make her a must-see on YouTube. For the finals, she returned to the song that made her famous, "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables. She wore a glamorous but modest sparkly floor-length dress, and her once-grey frizzy hair was a soft brown halo. She appeared more polished and animated than in previous performances, but seemed uncomfortable during banter with the judges after her song. Judge Simon Cowell said Boyle had a rough brush with fame, but that she was "a nice, shy person who wants a break." The week leading up to Saturday's performance had been a tumultuous one for Boyle. She lost her cool during a confrontation with two reporters, and the police intervened. Another contest judge said Boyle had contemplated pulling out of the program to soothe her frazzled nerves. "A lot of people said you shouldn't even be in this competition, that you weren't equipped to deal with it," Cowell said. "I totally disagree with that. "You had the guts to come back here and face your critics and you beat them." Asked about her career plans after the show, Boyle told broadcaster ITV that she hoped to get an album out, and will "just play it by ear." Millions tuned in to the live program and voted by telephone afterward. Boyle's hometown of Blackburn, Scotland— a working-class village about 10 miles west of Edinburgh— rallied round her, stringing up signs declaring their support. Her defeat was greeted with shouts of "no" and gasps of disbelief at the Happy Valley Hotel, where neighbors and friends had gathered to watch the program. "She lost because people didn't bother voting for her because they thought she was going to win it," lamented 21-year-old Gordon Mackenzie. "I didn't vote for her because I thought everyone else would." Boyle was up against a host of everyman acts determined to find stardom on reality television, including a 12-year-old whose voice was compared to Michael Jackson's, an 11-year-old body-popping dancer, and a grandfather-grandaughter singing duo. Winning group "Diversity" are a 10-person dance troupe who range in age from 12 to 25-years-old. Their act won praise throughout the competition, but they weren't seen as front-runners. Their victory earned them 100,000 pounds ($159,000), and the right to perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show in December. It was Boyle who had always been expected to win, and British bookmaker William Hill offered 10-11 odds on her victory Saturday. The betting service had briefly lowered its odds when the reports of erratic behavior seemed to show "there might be a chink in her armor," according to spokesman Rupert Adams. But he said William Hill "got absolutely hammered" with bets and quickly went back to predicting a Boyle victory. Boyle's entree into the limelight has been viewed millions of times, the fifth-most watched clip in history on YouTube. And it was a moment that has become reality show history. She introduced herself on camera as someone who lived alone with her cat, Pebbles — neighbors and relatives were taking turns looking after the feline while Boyle was in London for the show — and who had never been kissed. Those details combined with her matronly appearance sent the audience into titters when she walked on stage. But then she began to sing. And as Boyle hit a high note at the end of her song's first line, Cowell's eyebrows rose along with her voice. (Daily Record)
Jack Tweed was released from prison yesterday morning after serving half of his 12-week sentence. Shortly after Jade Goody’s death her 21-year-old widower was sent to prison after being convicted of assaulting taxi driver in Epping, Essex, last year. During sentencing, the judge admitted his sentence would have been longer if it had not been for the "change in his personal circumstances". Jack was met outside Edmunds Hill prison in Suffolk at 10am this morning by his mother and friends. Insiders told The Sun he is expected to visit Jade’s grave before meeting with his agent. (Handbag)
A former TMZ photographer sued Britney Spears on Friday over an incident in which his foot was run over. Ricardo Mendoza filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles on Friday against her, claiming that Spears negligently operated her car and committed assault and battery when she ran over his foot in Beverly Hills on Oct. 18, 2007. Several media outlets picked up footage of the incident, including celebrity gossip site TMZ, where Mendoza worked at the time. TMZ, which first reported the lawsuit, auctioned off his tire-stained sock and donated the proceeds to charity. Mendoza is also suing a pair of Spears' companies, claiming their agents should have known that Spears wasn't capable of properly driving the vehicle. The incident happened during a turbulent period for Spears, who hours earlier had lost custody of her two sons. The singer, whose most recent album is Circus, has since regained visitation rights. Her father, Jamie, has maintained control of the 27-year-old Spears' personal and financial affairs since February 2008. Spears was accused of running over another photographer's foot a month after the incident involving Mendoza, but prosecutors said in that incident it was more the photographer's fault. They declined to press charges. An e-mail message sent to Spears' publicist seeking comment was not immediately returned Friday. (Daily Record)
A public defender is demanding that TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman be charged with felonies for claiming that a man fired a gun at him and his crew while they were filming in Colorado Springs last month. Attorney William Schoewe alleges Chapman and others made up the claim to boost publicity for the A&E Television reality show Dog The Bounty Hunter. Prosecutors dropped charges against a suspect, saying the evidence was insufficient. Schoewe filed a motion Friday asking a judge to force prosecutors to charge Chapman, bail bondsman Bobby Brown and others with attempting to influence a public servant, conspiracy to attempt to influence a public servant, both felonies, and false reporting, a misdemeanor. Chapman's publicist, Mona Wood, said he was in Canada for public appearances Friday and was unavailable to comment. "They swear they saw it," Wood said of the alleged gunfire. Brown said Friday: "It was what it was. There was nothing illegal." Prosecutor Martha McKinney said she doesn't believe there's enough evidence to file charges against Chapman, Brown or the others. The incident was one of three surrounding Chapman while he filmed episodes for the show in Colorado Springs this spring. On April 20, Chapman apprehended a suspect inside police headquarters as the suspect was trying to turn himself in, and on May 19 a car that Chapman and his crew were following rolled over, but no injuries were reported. Police say they found no criminal wrongdoing in either of those incidents. In the reported shooting, Chapman and others said Hoang Nguyen fired a gun at them while they were trying to apprehend him on April 21. Nguyen, 35, was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Prosecutors dropped the case because of weak evidence and conflicting statements.
Chapman and Brown were pursuing Nguyen for allegedly missing a Feb. 9 court date on a domestic violence charge and skipping out on the $12,000 bond Brown had paid on his behalf. Schoewe said that out of 50 to 60 witnesses interviewed by police, only one member of Chapman's crew reported seeing a gun. One other witness said there was a "pop," presumably a gunshot, before Chapman and others responded with pepper spray pellets, Schoewe said. Nguyen fled but was apprehended later by Chapman and his crew. Brown had claimed the incident was caught on tape but Schoewe said none of it was turned over to investigators. It was unclear whether El Paso County District Judge J. Patrick Kelly had seen Schoewe's request or when he might rule. Motions to compel prosecutors to file charges are rare, especially from public defenders. "We decided to pursue this in the interest of justice," said Schoewe, who as a public defender is paid by taxpayers to defend, not prosecute. "We thought this was outrageous conduct." In the police station incident, Chapman apprehended Cheazere Whiteley, who faces felony charges of burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and weapons possession by a previous offender. Police surveillance video shows a man who appears to be Chapman pushing another man out of the way to get to Whiteley, who had walked into police headquarters and was standing at the counter in the lobby. "My brother was just turning himself in and he (Chapman) just wants to cause a scene for his TV show," said Jeanne Whiteley, Cheazere Whiteley's sister. "I used to watch his show but I don't any more, now that one of my family members has been on it. It sounds very unprofessional." Police Lt. David Whitlock said a uniformed officer in the lobby recognized Chapman and stood by as Whiteley was apprehended. "Was it in good taste? Was it within the boundaries of common sense and acting appropriately?" Whitlock said. "Really, I think those measurements need to be made by the community at large. We're bound by the rules of law."
Bounty hunters, or bail enforcement agents, are hired by bail bondsmen to apprehend people who have skipped bail. Bounty hunters use law enforcement tactics, though they don't follow the same professional restrictions that govern police agencies. "Most of the people I know kind of grit their teeth whenever (Chapman's) name is mentioned because of his tactics," said Lance Clem, spokesman for the Colorado Department of Public Safety. "Local agencies have developed clear policies as a result of experiences they've had." Wood said Chapman has captured almost 7,000 fugitives over a 25-year career that started in Denver. His show is filmed mainly in Hawaii and along Colorado's Front Range on the eastern edge of the Rockies, which includes Denver and Colorado Springs. "We've had our share of controversies but nothing with the capture of fugitives," Wood said. Whiteley was being held Friday at the El Paso County jail without bail. His mother, Evelyn Gomez, said her son missed his court dates because of a lack of transportation and because he believed many of the charges had been taken care of years ago.
Gomez said her son was in contact with Brown and had told him he was turning himself in at the police station on Gomez's advice. "I refused to let him be another black man that they beat up in front of the camera," Gomez said. "But a person isn't safe in the lobby of a police department? What kind of system is that?" Karen Sala, a Canadian woman claiming to have know Keanu Reeves since childhood, has filed a request for the actor to provide DNA samples as part of a plan to seek support for herself and four children. By the way, her children are all between 20 to 25 years old! "I'm pissed. I just want him to stand up and be a man," says Sala, who is acting as her own lawyer. Sala is seeking a DNA test along child support of $150,000 per month as well as $3 million per month in spousal support. This woman is crazy!!!!!!!!! Keanu's spokesperson states, "Karen Sala's allegations are completely false and absurd. Mr. Reeves has no knowledge of who she is." Thought so! His business manager added, "Before you disparage my client and lend validity to this, there's clearly something wrong with someone who claims child support after all the kids have grown. I'm just pointing that out." Supposedly, there are witnesses to their relationship but Sala has not been able to provide proof. (Perez Hilton)
LAST WEEK:
American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert may want America to keep speculating about his sexuality, but there's at least one person who has no doubt which way the 27-year-old singer swings: judge Kara DioGuardi. "I don't think that Adam was ever in [the closet]," she says in a chat set to air on The View Friday. Her comment came as part of a response to host Barbara Walters, who had asked if Lambert's controversial loss to Kris Allen was influenced by questions about whether Lambert is gay. Lambert has a penchant for eyeliner, nail polish, tight pants and flamboyant hair styles, and has been photographed kissing other men. “I hope not," DioGuardi answered. "Because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry, and they both had that." In an earlier interview with PEOPLE.com, Lambert said people who worried about whether he preferred men or women romantically needed to "calm down," and that the most important thing was that he was being true to himself. "You should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it," he said. (People)
A 23 year old woman from Australia was just sentenced to two years in prison for cyber-stalking American Idol has been Diana DeGarmo. The woman, Tanya Maree Quattrocch, pleaded guilty to hacking into the singer's MySpace account as well as intercepting emails from her friends and family. What makes this even worse, other than it's just pathetic, is that this woman is a repeat offender! Oh yeah, she has already served some time for doing the EXACT same thing back in 2006. We guess old habits die hard, but honestly, stupid ones should just stop with no problem. (Perez Hilton)
Late the other night, more like very early Friday morning, '80s hit maker Tone Loc was performing during a concert at Capt’n Fun Beach Club in Pensacola Beach, Florida. Unfortunately for Loc, he collapsed at the venue!!!! Our former Celebrity Rap Superstar buddy seemed to be somewhat unconscious and had to be taken away in an ambulance. As for the reason he collapsed, no one's quite sure what happened. During his performance, Tone did make several remarks about the humidity and the heat at the open-air club. Club officials wouldn't comment on the situation. Though, according to one of the Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies working security at the show, it seems Tone has a history of seizures. Not-so-sweet Candy Spelling is pissed that an interview she gave yesterday about her late husband, TV producer Aaron, and estranged daughter, Tori Spelling, prompted this headline around the internet: Candy Spelling: Tori's Actions Killed My Husband Aaron Spelling. Uhmm, you said it! Why be pissed? To clarify, rotten Candy now says: "I didn't intend to create headlines. I was asked a question about my daughter not speaking with my family, and I answered truthfully. My husband was very ill, and he had stopped eating and taking liquids. He called Tori on a daily basis, and never stopped asking if Tori had returned his call. We had to say no every day." Guess Candy's done trying to "make nice" with Tori! (Perez Hilton)
Madonna's ex, Alex Rodriguez, is nursing his hurt ego with Kate Hudson. They've been together for little more than a week, but already Hudson is following A-Rod around. She even stayed with him at the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas Wednesday night after the Yankees played the Texas Rangers. Meanwhile, Madge has started to lighten up a bit -- with her wallet. The queen of self-hype is footing the bill for her dancers to stay at the Bryant Park Hotel "for the next few weeks," said our source. "They've taken up more than 30 guest rooms." The Hogan family has decided to challenge the Spellings for this week's title of Celebrity Family Best at Being the Worst. It all started last week when the airbrush angel of your dreams, Brooke Hogan, video-chatted with Perez and talked about her mom, Linda, doing drugs. Not that Brooke knows this firsthand; the two haven't spoken much since Linda and Hulk announced their divorce and Linda started dating a 21-year-old. Instead, Brooke is relying on what her gut and people back home tell her. Brooke's speculations caused Linda's Google alerts to go off, and she did what any loving, caring mother would do in this situation—ordered her people to email Perez about Brooke's boob job... "Brooke has always had a problem telling the truth. If it is her claim that her breasts are natural or she hasn't been banging the crap out of the pot head $tack for the last 3 years... Brooke 'thinks' [Linda]'s doing drugs is a hypocrisy when her father and $tack are rolling and Smoking joints together in Brooke's recording session, and Brooke knows it." Fact: You’re a bad mom if you’re not emailing celebrity gossip bloggers about your daughter’s plastic surgery and sexual partners. Well, now it's Hulk's turn to weigh in on this mess. His lawyers released a statement today defending Brooke and challenging Linda to an I'll-show-you-mine-if-you-show-me-yours drug test: "Brooke Hogan has spoken out in support of her father only because of her mother's repeated fabricated attacks on him...Linda has refused repeated invitations by Brooke to reconcile and given these recent comments it appears a mother/daughter relationship is impossible at this time. It is sad that Linda Hogan continues to attempt to throw her family under the bus to gain publicity. In terms of the ongoing divorce suit, Hulk Hogan and his legal team would gladly take Linda up on her offer to submit to a legally supervised drug test and certainly Terry would do the same. We believe the results would speak for themselves and reveal that Linda's idea of a good time would definitely not be appropriate for Mass or a family restaurant." These Hogans are the best at statement zings. All right, it's Linda up to bat now. How do you zing your way out of a drug test? Stay tuned, we'll probably find out soon. (Eonline)
Niles Crane is pulling his hair out yet again. Frasier's David Hyde Pierce was atypically vocal on The View yesterday when he revealed he married his companion of 25 years, Brian Hargrove, last fall in—where else?—California. "Brian and I always kept a low profile. We didn't hide our lives," he said. "We got married very quietly last Oct. 24 and thought that was fine, and then suddenly the state of California said, 'No, it's not.' What we thought was sort of a private, personal decision turned out not to be." Needless to say, the actor is outraged. He's recently been more active in gay-rights rallies and shared his frustrations with Barbara Walters and the gang. (Eonline)
The N.Y. Yankees played the Cleveland Indians over the weekend, but evidently a few road-tripped early to catch LeBron James lead his Cavaliers to a win in Game 5 of the NBA playoff series against Orlando Magic. Sporting a family pass around his neck, Alex Rodriguez was not the only A-lister there. The baseballer grabbed some time to chat court side with hip hop mogul Jay-Z before the action began. Then, after the game, the hip hop mogul got another visit. This time LeBron James stopped by for a salute and high-five with his pal and collaborator. Joining Rodriguez in the stands were teammates Mariano Rivera, CC Sabathia, Robinson Cano and Joba Chamberlain. Marv Albert reported that Yankees pitcher Sabathia, who used to play for Cleveland, even text messaged James he was going to wear a Magic hat as payback for when James wore his Yankees hat to a baseball game a couple years ago. Rounding out the sporting event attendees were a few football players, too. Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the hometown Brown's quarterback Brady Quinn. (People)
Chace Crawford will soon be cutting Footloose on the big screen. So what's he like on the real-life dance floor? "Chace has got a lot of upper body stuff going on. He raises the roof a lot," his Gossip Girl costar Connor Paolo told PEOPLE at a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital benefit at Manhattan ballroom Capitale Thursday night. The unique move, he says, is a success. "Come on, anything Chace does will work for him," Paolo said with a laugh. The 18-year-old actor – on hiatus from filming – looks forward to hearing more from Crawford about the film, which will be directed by High School Musical's Kenny Ortega. "The last time I saw him ... we were talking about the film he just finished, which was Twelve. So he and I haven't talked about this yet. But I'm sure it will be a fun conversation!" And, in the meantime, Paolo is looking forward to a summer not in the city. "My family grew up out in Long Beach Island in Jersey, which is where I basically grew up. So I'm out there almost every weekend. We'll just drive out there and kick back at the house," he says. And maybe get their grooves on. (People)
DJ AM needs to pay closer attention to who's in the house when he spins. The famed deejay was at club MyHouse in Hollywood Wednesday night when his NBA playoff enthusiasm kicked in. "Who here is a Laker fan?" he shouted on the mike, according to our spy, who added, "The crowd started shouting [negatively]." Our source noted the bad reaction came from "a crew of players from the Denver Nuggets who were there trying to unwind" after the Lakers licked them in game five. (Page Six)
Friends till the end! Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox enjoyed a girls' night out Thursday in Los Angeles. The longtime BFFs enjoyed a dinner with Cox's husband David Arquette at L.A.'s Water Grill before heading over to Staples Center to catch a Fleetwood Mac concert. "They totally looked like they did back on Friends - two women having a girls night out," an onlooker tells X17. "Other diners at the restaurant were definitely looking at the pair, but it didn't seem to bother them. They were both in a great mood! They were even holding hands on the way out of the restaurant!" Surely, the two had a lot of catching up to do (Aniston has been in NYC shooting the comedy The Baster; Cox has been filming her ABC show Cougar Town). Us Weekly reported that Cox and Arquette hung out with Aniston's ex Brad Pitt backstage at L.A.'s Wiltern theater after watching Chris Cornell's Scream tour performance with DJ Skee on May 3. Says a witness, "They were all reminiscing. Everyone got along great." (Page Six)

For decades, the original metal masters of Woody Guthrie's songs lay forgotten and stacked in cardboard barrels in a Brooklyn basement. Producer Michael Creamer learned of the trove through his cousin and took some discs to engineer Doug Pomeroy, who rejuvenated the folk hero's early-'40s recordings to create My Dusty Road, a 54-track, four-CD set due Aug. 25 on Rounder Records. The first installment of the Woody Guthrie Legacy Series contains unreleased tracks and such signatures as This Land Is Your Land, Pretty Boy Floyd and Hard Travelin, plus photos, lyric sheets and facsimiles of Guthrie's business card, a postcard to his wife and a 1940s booking card, all in a replica vintage suitcase. Enthralled by the remastered cache's brilliant clarity, Guthrie's daughter Nora gushes in the liner notes: "It's achingly human, simple and direct yet full of spirited words and ideas. It's very, very strange. The more time goes by, the clearer Woody's voice gets." (Daily Record)
Girls Aloud are the richest reality TV stars, grossing £25m between them. The girl band topped a reality TV list, beating Will Young (£12.5m) and Leona Lewis (£10m) into second and third place respectively. The band has been so successful that it's easy to forget they found fame on ITV's Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The late Bog Brother star Jade Goody also makes an appearance on the list in fourth place with £8m, closely followed by Myleene Klass with £7.5m. The list was compiled after discussions with talent agents, journalists and accountants. (British Glamour)
There's just one more day until Susan Boyle can justify her global celebrity—and live up to expectations as the bookmakers' favorite—by winning the finale of Britain's Got Talent. No pressure, though. After a tension-filled week that saw the 48-year-old Scot—unflatteringly dubbed "Ramboyle" and the "Hairy Angel" by her pals in the British press—unleash an expletive-laced rant at reporters (and maybe a judge or two), reportedly threaten to quit the reality hit and be publicly defended by the otherwise caustic Piers Morgan, there's yet one more twist to Boyle's tale. The church volunteer turned worldwide phenomenon has been placed in a safe house in advance of tomorrow's show. (Eonline)
Welcome to Chapter 13 in the Scott Storch-is-broke-again saga -- today we've learned how the once-loaded music producer now has more debt than he has dollars. Storch filed a bunch of papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, revealing that Scott owes $58,077.37 to 13 creditors in 7 states. To put this in perspective, dude's net worth was reportedly $70 million in 2006. Storch had produced music for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown. Now he has more in common with Suge Knight. (TMZ)
A surprise invitation from Trent Reznor resulted in Street Sweeper Social Club -- the new group formed by Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, the Nightwatchman) and the Coup's Boots Riley -- getting an earlier than expected public airing. "We were finishing mixing our record when Trent called up and said, 'Hey, want to do the (Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction) tour?'," Morello tells Billboard.com. "So all of a sudden the leisurely mixing process became, 'We got to get this out right now! We've got to start rehearsing for the tour tomorrow!'" There are no regrets, however. "Both bands are friends from back in the day," Morello says, "so there's a very good, family kind of vibe. (Reznor) has been a great host on the tour" -- and also joined Morello, Riley and company on stage for a recent rendition of the MC5's "Kick Out the Jams." Street Sweeper Social Club started in 2007, after Morello and Riley played "innumerable" shows together, including benefits and Nightwatchman tours that featured Riley as the opening act. "When Audioslave broke up, we had dinner and I made him an offer he couldn't refuse," Morello recalls. "I told him, 'We're in a band. It's called Street Sweeper Social Club. It's revolutionary party jams.' Then I handed him a cassette tape of 24 song ideas and said 'Write to this.' He was given no choice in the matter -- and to date, he hasn't said 'yes.' But it's been going very well." The "Street Sweeper Social Scene" album, which comes out June 16, features 11 songs with a predictable socio-political bent, a rap and rock mix that's closer to Rage Against the Machine than Audioslave. The difference, Morello says, is that "Boots' storytelling relies a lot on humor and satire. One of my main jobs as a producer was to really present his lyrical vision in a way that people really see how great this guy is. I think they'll be blown away." Galactic's Stanton Moore played drums on the album, while a trio of musicians -- Tony Award-nominated David Gibbs ("Rock of Ages") on guitar, bassist Carl Restivo (Satellite Party, Freedom Fighter Orchestra) and drummer Eric Gardner (drums) -- is part of the band for live shows. Morello says the group is planning a late summer/fall headlining tour of North America and possible some European summer shows. Morello adds that the Coup and his work as the Nightwatchman and with Rage Against the Machine will continue alongside Street Sweeper Social Club. (Billboard)
Country star John Rich is charged with assault and harassment in an ongoing dispute with a former "Nashville Star" contestant. Rich says in a statement Thursday that he turned himself in to Nashville police to face the charges filed by Jared Ashley, a contestant during the fourth season of the TV show on the USA network. The 35-year-old was charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and one misdemeanor count of harassment. He was released on $3,000 bond. In April, Rich sued Ashley, saying the aspiring singer defamed him by claiming Rich hit him in the face. Rich says the charges are false and he rejected a settlement offer to pay $2.9 million to have them dropped. Rich is part of the duo Big & Rich. His latest solo hit is "Shuttin' Detroit Down." Pixar Studios, the last film house in Hollywood that draws an audience on its name alone, scored its 10th straight No. 1 film as Up soared above the competition this weekend. The animated comedy about a widower and young boy who travel in a flying house raked in $68.2 million, according to studio estimates from Nielsen EDI. The debut slightly exceeded the expectations of analysts — who expect a lot from the studio behind Finding Nemo, Wall·E and Toy Story. And the film delivered on virtually every count, scoring an A-plus from CinemaScore and a recommendation from 98% of the nation's films critics, according to RottenTomatoes.com. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian was second with $25.5 million, bringing its 10-day total to $105.3 million. Despite stellar reviews, Drag Me To Hell managed only third place and $16.8 million. Most analysts projected the horror film, which earned thumbs-up from 94% of reviewers, to do at least $20 million. Terminator Salvation was fourth with $16.1 million, followed by Star Trek's $12.8 million. Ticket sales dipped 24% from last weekend and 1% from the same weekend last year. Final numbers are out Monday. (Daily Record)
Amy Adams might be flying high from playing Amelia Earhart in the Night at the Museum sequel, but her next role took her literally across the Atlantic. "It's been amazing. … We've gone out to the west and seen beautiful landscapes," Adams says. It was her first trip to Ireland, where she has been filming Leap Year with Matthew Goode. The film, directed by Anand Tucker, is due in early 2010. Adams' character, who plans to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, "is a very detail-oriented person who has her life planned out, and things sort of go off course with the help of a very handsome, roguish Irishman." Can Adams, who's engaged to actor Darren Le Gallo, relate to being into details? "I can be that way about certain things … It's easier to do it yourself." (Daily Record)
In an odd bit of symbolism, the Chevy Chase resurgence is leading him back in time. The comedy vet is now taking a dip in UA's time-travel comedy "Hot Tub Time Machine," with John Cusack and Rob Corddry. The Steve Pink-directed, Josh Heald-scripted film follows a bunch of unsatisfied guys who get thrown back to their younger days in 1987 via their Jacuzzi. Chase plays a mysterious repairman who dispenses pearls of wisdom and may or may not be behind the metaphysical road trip. The film is shooting in Vancouver and is scheduled for a February release. The "Saturday Night Live" alum, who toplined a string of classic 1980s comedies, is enjoying something of a comeback. Chase appeared in a recent arc on NBC's "Chuck," and nabbed a role in the Polish brothers' Tribeca film "Stay Cool." Chase, repped by Fortitude and Kritzer Levine Wilkins Entertainment, also has a starring role on NBC's new series "Community," in which he plays a community college student carrying more divorces than classes. He is also considering a new script for the Weinstein Co. that would see him reprise his highly quotable role as investigative reporter Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher. A relaunch of the "Fletch" franchise has been in the works for years, with the current screenplay's approach passing the baton to Fletch's journalist nephew as the semi-retired uncle advises him on his stories. Will it ever happen? Well, there we're in kind of a gray area. (Hollywood Reporter)
The Dutch director, who most recently helmed his native-tongued “Black Book,” has come aboard to develop and direct “The Surrogate,” a thriller for 20th Century Fox. Ralph Winter is producing via his Winter Road shingle along with Deborah Giarratana, Robin Guthrie and Susana Zepeda. Based on the 2004 book by Kathryn Mackel, the story centers on a couple desperate to have a child who find themselves in an unbearable position when they find out the surrogate they hired to carry their baby is insane. The project originally was set up at Fox Atomic but moved to Fox proper when Atomic was shuttered. Debbie Liebling, who ran Atomic, is overseeing “Surrogate.” Roderick Taylor and Bruce Taylor wrote the original draft. Winter, a producer on Fox’s “X-Men” movies, most recently was a producer on “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” Verhoeven, repped by ICM and Marion Rosenberg, became one of Hollywood’s most sought-after directors in the 1990s with such movies as “Total Recall” and “Basic Instinct.” He became disenchanted with Tinseltown after his 2000 sci-fi thriller “Hollow Man” fizzled. He then returned to the Netherlands, where he made “Book.” The World War II thriller won several awards and thrust him back in the limelight. Verhoeven is developing several projects, including “The Winter Queen,” with Milla Jovovich attached to star. (Hollywood Reporter)
Warner Bros. is revving up its engines, picking up the spec script "Trans Am" by Matt Johnson. The Southern-fried buddy action script centers on a disgraced sheriff's deputy and a repentant getaway driver who must elude a federal manhunt when they join forces to bring an escaped bank robber to justice. The action unfolds along the Mississippi River in the vein of a Deep South-set "48 HRS." Matt Reilly will oversee the project for Warners. Johnson, repped by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment, was recently hired to adapt the Red 5 comic book "Afterburn" for Relativity and producers Neal Moritz and Tobey Maguire. His credits include 2004's Warners thriller "Torque" and the 2005 Jessica Alba flick "Into the Blue." He most recently penned the road-race adventure "Baja 1000" for Spyglass. (Hollywood Reporter)

Happily for fans of Chi McBride, he just keeps pushing on. For a few brief weeks this summer, starting Saturday, he'll be back on the air in ABC's delightful but defunct Pushing Daisies. His role as a wry, money-loving detective who writes pop-up books on the side was a breakthrough for the big-guy star, allowing him to show the lighter side of his talents. But unfortunately, the role did not last as long as fans of the star or the show would have liked. Never fear. McBride will be back on Fox in January in Human Target, an action-adventure based on the graphic novel. He'll play the business partner of crime fighter Christopher Chance (Mark Valley). McBride is hoping for good reviews, but maybe not too good. After all, his last two series, The Nine and Daisies, were two of the best-reviewed shows of the decade, and neither lasted a full season. McBride's comic request to critics? "Like us. Don't love us." (Daily Record)
Jon, Kate and their eight have attracted a huge TV audience, screaming tabloid headlines and, now, a state labor investigation. In a possible wake-up call to reality TV, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor says it's looking into whether the hit show Jon & Kate Plus 8 is complying with the state's child labor law. TLC said Friday it "fully complies" with state laws and regulations. The TLC series follows Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raise their eight young children, including 8-year-old twins and sextuplets who just turned 5. The show drew nearly 10 million viewers for its fifth-season premiere Monday — more than double the audience for its fourth-season finale several weeks ago — following media reports that the couple had cheated on each other. They denied it, but conceded their marriage is in trouble. The Labor Department received a complaint against the show and is "gathering information" from its representatives, department spokesman Justin Fleming told The Associated Press. Fleming would not say when the complaint was filed or who filed it. The fact a complaint is being investigated doesn't necessarily mean the department believes the show did anything wrong. "Any complaint we get, we investigate," Fleming said. Child actors and other young performers are protected by Pennsylvania labor law, but it's not clear whether the law applies to reality TV. Investigators will have to decide whether the Gosselins' house in southeastern Pennsylvania is essentially a TV set where producers direct much of the action — in which case the law may apply — or a home where the kids aren't really working but are simply living their lives, albeit in front of the cameras. Kate's brother and sister-in-law made waves this week by saying the Gosselins are exploiting their children for financial gain. Jon and Kate Gosselin are reportedly paid tens of thousands of dollars per episode. "Unfortunately, I think it has come down to all about the ratings," sister-in-law Jodi Kreider told CBS' The Early Show. "And no one is looking at these children as what they are going through and the life consequences they are going to have as they get older." Kreider said the children have told her they don't like the cameras. Her husband and Kate's brother, Kevin Kreider, said in the same interview: "You can't imagine as a child realizing that my birthday party, that all the outings that my parents took me on were ... for ratings, and all organized by production companies." TLC spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg said in a statement Friday that the network "fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations" for all of its shows. "For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor," Goldberg said. Child labor laws vary by state. Other reality shows featuring children include TLC's 18 Kids and Counting, set in Arkansas, and Table for 12, set in New Jersey. The Pennsylvania investigation recalls a 2007 controversy surrounding Kid Nation, a CBS reality show about 40 children given the task of organizing and running their own lives in New Mexico. The Screen Actors Guild and others suggested the children were being exploited and one trade magazine said the show was skirting New Mexico labor laws by declaring the production a "summer camp." Producers denied the accusations; the show lasted 13 episodes. Seeking more space for their brood, the Gosselins moved in October into a $1.1 million house on nearly 24 acres with a white picket fence and gated, tree-lined driveway. The show tapes year-round, three or four days a week. A few miles away, in the small town of Wernersville, everyone seems to have an opinion about the sharp-tongued Kate and her long-suffering husband. Amanda Baez, 32, an assistant at her mother's Wernersville hair salon and an avid watcher of the show, said she's not concerned about the children's welfare. "This is all the children know, especially the sextuplets since they were babies. They grew up with cameras in their faces. They grew up with the production. ... It's probably like having their aunt and uncle with the family video camera just watching you," she said. State law permits kids who are at least 7 to work in the entertainment industry, as long as a permit is obtained and certain rules are followed. The law also allows performers younger than 7 to have "temporary employment ... in the production of a motion picture." George Voegele, a labor lawyer at Cozen O'Connor in Philadelphia, said the Labor Department might well decide it doesn't have jurisdiction over the show, especially if investigators determine the cameras are there to document the kids, not direct them. "The fundamental question I see here is whether or not they're employees, whether they're working, and whether the Pennsylvania child labor law provisions would even apply to this situation," he said. AP Television Writer Frazier Moore contributed to this story from New York. (Daily Record)
At a wispy 6-foot-4, Conan O'Brien doesn't walk so much as glide. So with what seems like only a few strides, he's out of his guitar-and-memorabilia-decorated office, through a hallway, across a back lot and on his new Tonight Show set here at Universal Studios. "This is the man," O'Brien says with a Superman tone, grasping the shoulder of a bemused Bob Dickinson, one of Hollywood's top lighting directors. "The new show may end up being terrible, but I guarantee you it'll be the best-looking terrible you've ever seen." The quip says everything about how O'Brien will approach his tenure, beginning Monday at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT, as host of NBC's vaunted late-night staple. The man who brought TV viewers Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Will Ferrell doing a striptease as a leprechaun plans to remain true to his offbeat and irreverent style. Meanwhile, he'll try to burnish a jewel he has coveted since childhood: the talk-show hosting gig held most famously by Johnny Carson and most recently by Jay Leno, whose run ends tonight with O'Brien as a guest. O'Brien's new home, on a studio lot a short drive from The Tonight Show's longtime Burbank digs, typifies the off-center humor that made O'Brien, 46, a star after his rocky start replacing David Letterman on NBC's Late Night in 1993. His new set's quirky hallmarks include a band backdrop featuring the Empire State Building planted in the Hollywood hills and a striking art deco frieze in which is hidden a drawing of an Arby's counter jockey. It's part of a design that recalls Carson's 30-year run on The Tonight Show, with the host desk and guest couch far left as viewed from the audience, band far right and an epic arc of a curtain in the center. Tours take place on Fridays and Sundays for £25. (British Glamour)
ABC has given the green light to the auto-competition show "Crash Course" for a late summer run. The network plans to air seven one-hour episodes from executive producers Arthur Smith and Kent Weed. Orlando Jones ("MadTV") and Dan Cortese ("Veronica's Closet") will serve as commentators. "It's going to be visually stunning and hysterical," Smith said. "Nothing brings out the worst in people than sitting in a passenger seat." Each episode features five couples (such as brother and sister, best friends, spouses, etc.) undertaking four extreme driving challenges. The first three rounds have contestants performing such feats as driving on two wheels or navigating intense weather conditions. Contestants have to work together when, for instance, the passenger is given sole control of the brake. One couple is eliminated during each round. The final round is the Crash Course, a large obstacle track. "Any kind of conditions you can imagine you'd encounter while driving -- rain, snow, flash flood -- we take that and blow it up," Weed said. The order comes on the heels of a strong return for ABC's other obstacle course series, "Wipeout," which won its time period Wednesday. CBS was developing a similar auto-based reality show titled "Thunder Road" from producer-director McG, but sources say that project is not moving forward. Producers plan to shoot "Crash" in Michigan and are scouting backdrops that reflect the state's automotive history. "It's great to be going to the automotive center of America. What could be more appropriate?" Smith said. If "Crash" airs in August as planned, it will mark A. Smith & Co.'s third reality series to broadcast this summer. The company also produces Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" and ABC's "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" in addition to such cable fare as Spike TV's "Pros vs. Joes" and TruTV's upcoming "Full Throttle."
