The 59-year-old singer underwent successful kidney transplant surgery "and is resting comfortably," publicist Maureen O'Connor said Wednesday. Cole will postpone her summer tour, which was set to begin June 5 and run through November, as she recovers. Cole had been receiving dialysis three times a week since September. She still continued to perform, even overseas, in support of her latest album, the Grammy-winning Still Unforgettable, The kidney dialysis is unrelated to Cole's struggle with hepatitis C, a liver disease spread through contact with infected blood. She announced her hepatitis diagnosis last year and said that the disease was likely caused by her drug use years ago. Cole received painful chemotherapy to treat the hepatitis and "within four months, I had kidney failure," she told Larry King on his CNN show last month. Without a donor, she would need dialysis for the rest of her life, she said. After her appearance on King, she received countless letters from people offering to give her a kidney. But a regional organ-procurement agency, One Legacy, found a kidney for her. Cole has sold millions of records and won nine Grammys since she made her recording debut in 1975. The daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole had her greatest success with the 1991 CD Unforgettable ... With Love, which paid tribute to her late father with reworked versions of some of his best-known songs. She won her ninth Grammy in February for Still Unforgettable, on which she also sings jazz standards. She recently performed on American Idol and was gearing up for her tour. "I'm committed to working. I'm a fighter, not a chump," she said in an interview with People last year. "The timing is intense. The album is special to me, and here I am sick. But you know the saying: These are the best of times and the worst of times. So we'll barrel through." (Daily Record)

Their courtship and engagement happened in a matter of months, but when it comes to planning their wedding, Dancing with the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are taking their time.  "If it was just friends and family that would be one thing, but there are so many people telling us, 'we’ll be there, we want to come!' So we said, Okay, the wedding is turning out to be a bigger production," Chmerkovskiy tells PEOPLE. "We want to take our time. You don't want to piss anybody off or hurt anybody."  One thing the couple has decided on is the time of year they want the ceremony. "Next June is when we want to have the wedding," says Chmerkovskiy. "We are currently interviewing a few wedding planners because we figure we could use professional help." In the Meantime, Chmerkovskiy – who stars in ABC's upcoming athletic reality competition show The Superstars premiering June 23 – says he and his fiancée aren't rushing to find the right venue, the right outfits, or the right wedding rings. Two weeks ago the couple was photographed at Beverly Hills jewelry store David Yurman, but Chmerkovskiy says they were not trying on rings. "Karina gave me a necklace from there, and there were a couple diamonds missing," he says, noting that when the time is right the couple will likely choose something "traditional" for their wedding bands. Between all the planning, Chmerkovskiy and Smirnoff will do some traveling this summer – and he'll work on his golf game. "It's very therapeutic," Chmerkovskiy says, noting that fellow ballroom pal Tony Dovolani "is a huge part of it. I'm getting good. I'm going to try and utilize the summer to get much better." Reality TV star Katie Price has said her drinking is not to blame for her split from Peter Andre. Katie Price has denied drink is to blame for her split from Peter Andre. Speaking to OK! Magazine the reality TV star admitted she is "really devastated" by the couple’s sudden split but vows not to wallow. "I can't sit around crying. I love my husband but this is a new story and a new chapter in my life and I know the truth," Katie explained. "Pete can't blame this on me drinking. I hardly ever go out and over the five years of our relationship I have probably been out 20 times - which is unusual for a woman of 30. I'm not a party girl and I don't drink at home, so when I go out I can get drunk quickly." Price also insisted the break-up was "absolutely not a publicity stunt" and she would "not be giving any interviews". Hmmm, we’ll see. (Handbag)

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow asked her latest director to check her boobs before agreeing to a nude scene. Gwyneth Paltrow asked director James Gray to give her boobs a once over before signing on for a nude scene in her latest film, Two Lovers, the filmmaker has told The Sun. “Gwyneth told me ‘I don't care about nudity, I'll give you everything you need. But I've had two children and I just don't think they look very good any more. Do me a favor, come into my trailer and I'll show them to you and if you think they look OK I'll do it,'” the director explained. “So I marched in there and I told her they looked great.” (Handbag)

It is sad, but unless Leona and Lou can find a magic solution, it looks like it could be the end of the road for them." (Handbag)

Singer Justin Timberlake’s New York restaurant has been hit with a sexual discrimination lawsuit. Southern Hospitality, Justin Timberlake’s New York restaurant, is at the centre of sexual discrimination accusations, New York Daily News report. Former employee Alison McDaniel claims Timberlake and business partners Trace Ayala, Eytan Sugarman and Ronnie Kaplan were guilty of “vile and discriminatory conduct” during her time as waitress at the Upper East Side eatery. "In at least one instance, defendants Sugarman and Kaplan viewed pornography while in a locked room with McDaniel and made fun of her when she began crying," the suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, claims before alleging that other female workers endured racist comments including a hostess who was given the nickname "that ghetto girl at the door." McDaniel was fired after she wrote a memo complaining of the harassment, the suit claims. A publicist for Southern Hospitality has made no comment on the lawsuit. It’s the second time Justin’s restaurant has been caught up in legal problems, last November a former member of the waiting team brought a case against the restaurant claiming employees weren't getting their fair share of tips and overtime. While the Adam Lambert-Kris Allen drama played out onstage during American Idol's final performance show, a scarier showdown took place after the taping. Former Simon Cowell squeeze and Extra correspondent Terri Seymour was attacked outside the Nokia Theatre last night, apparently targeted because of her association with the Idol judge, police tell E! News. According to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, officers on hand for crowd control witnessed the incident, which took place around 7 p.m. As Seymour was leaving the venue, she was approached by 33-year-old Janice Thibodeaux, who asked if Seymour was Cowell's ex-girlfriend. After Seymour answered in the affirmative, police say Thibodeaux attacked Seymour, grabbing her neck and attempting to choke her. (Eonline)

Yet another of the Slumdog Millionare child stars is watching their home be torn down by the Railway authorities in Mumbai. Rubina Ali played the younger version of the character Latika in the movie and her one room shack was illegally built along the new path for the expanding railway. Therefore, it was just demolished by men with sledgehammers, much like fellow star Azharuddin Ismail's shack was last week. Photographers captured the young girl watching her home be destroyed and scraping through the rubble of her home with her mother, looking for their belongings. What's even worse is that both children were promised a new home last February by the housing authority of Maharashtra state. Someone should light a fire under these people and keep these kids off the street. (Perez Hilton)

The custody battle between Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford and soon-to-be ex, Daniel Giersch, is getting heated. Correction: getting MORE heated! THE OTHER STUFF . . .

Sarah Jessica Parker says the surrogate mom carrying the actress's twins is a strong woman who made "an incredibly generous and gracious choice." But Parker now worries that this strength is being put to too much of a test from the media attention following the announcement the Sex and the City star and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting twin girls. "On a daily basis, on an hourly basis, I am greatly concerned for her health and safety and the safe delivery of our children," Parker, 44, tells Access Hollywood in an interview airing Tuesday. Parker alleges that the surrogate, along with her friends and family, have been subjected to threats and harassment by the tabloid media. "Obviously there are those that don't care about her, or her health, or safety, or my children's health and safety, and that they should go to term and not go into an early labor and, god forbid, suffer all the things that can happen – that is a real possibly," she says. All this comes at what should be one of the happiest times in the lives of the couple, who turned to a surrogate out of necessity. "We have been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so," Parker says. "It would have been odd to have made this choice if I was able to have had successful pregnancies since my son's birth." The couple have also explained some of the surrogacy process with their 6-year-old son James Wilkie. "I've been pretty candid with him," she says. "I kind of chartered my own course with him because we wanted to keep this quiet and so I wanted to be very careful about telling him so he wasn't burdened with a secret. On the other hand, I wanted him to have time to adjust to the idea of sharing his mama and his papa." The actress has high praise for the surrogate. "I'm really comfortable with her. She's made a really big choice to be part of our lives and I think she's an honorable person," says Parker. "You can't express enough how much you think about decisions like this ... She's strong, bright, independent, thoughtful, caring, gracious and generous."  (People)

Brad Pitt took Angelina Jolie to celebrate with his friends at an intimate dinner – for 60. On Tuesday, the power pair dined at the Michelangelo in Cap D'Antibes for the special meal on the eve of Pitt's big movie premiere at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. The stars and the crew of Inglourious Basterds – including director Quentin Tarantino, Diane Kruger (with boyfriend Joshua Jackson), Emile Hirsch and Daniel Bruhl – dined on pasta with crayfish, ravioli with truffles, spaghetti with clams, and round pasta with garlic sausage, washed down with Dom Perignon. Also in the restaurant: Twilight's Robert Pattinson. The dinner date came soon after Jolie arrived from Holland, where she had observed a war crimes trial. On Wednesday, Pitt starred at a press conference at the Palais. Later in the day, he and Jolie are expected to walk to red-carpeted steps for the unveiling of his WWII, in which he plays an American soldier from rural Tennessee, as Pitt told Ann Curry in a Today show interview live from Cannes on Wednesday. Staying Nearby "The dinner was a private event for the entire cast of Quentin Tarantino's film," a member of the restaurant staff tells PEOPLE. "They all had a wonderful time. Angelina and Brad were lovely, the loveliest people I have ever met!" The eatery is a familiar haunt for Pitt, who was seen there with pal George Clooney during promotion for their Ocean's movies. Pitt and Jolie are staying nearby, in a house on the grounds of the exclusive Hotel du Cap. In his Today interview, Pitt – dressed by designer Tom Ford and sporting an ascot – talked about his Inglourious Basterds movie character (surprisingly heartless), his being named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People for his work building houses in New Orleans ("It's working down there," he said), and his life right now ("Still about discovery and finding new interests"). But he grew visibly skittish when asked about Jolie, though he did credit their children for his life being on track, because being at home with them, he said, is both satisfying and gratifying. In matters of the heart, it turns out that Justin Long is neither a Mac nor a PC – he's PDG. "I hate to brag, but I'm pretty damn good," Long tells PEOPLE, "in terms of loyalty and just being there." Not that he's perfect. "I have a time-management problem that's not very appealing for girls," he says. "I'm not very good with that – I'd say that's definitely a flaw that I'm trying to work on." And his biggest flaw? "I'm too good a lover," he laughed. Long, 30, the Mac Guy from the Mac vs. PC commercials who appears in the upcoming horror/comedy flick Drag Me to Hell, has recently been seen again with off-and-on girlfriend Drew Barrymore. Keeping such famous company has made him a paparazzi magnet, and Long admits that handling his increased personal and professional profile is still a learning experience. "It's created surreality to my life that I wasn't prepared for," he says. "I'm still trying to figure it out and deal with it and know where to put it in my life." Having friends who've lived life in the public eye has made it easier to adjust, and not be overly guarded about letting others into his life. "I was fortunate to be close to people who had dealt with it on a much bigger level," he explains. "I have very close friends and I'm close with my family, so I know what it is to trust someone and to allow people in. That's remained more intact. If anything I've gone the other way with it. I've seen this happen to people, I've seen people become corrupted by it, and I know the pitfalls and I'm wary of them." He also has his Connecticut-based family to keep him grounded when they catch him complaining about the price of fame. "They're like 'Shut up. You're doing really well and you're doing what you love to do, and we're playing Monopoly right now in our living room, so let's leave the Hollywood talk for some other time,'" he says. "It's just something that I'm trying to navigate and it's not the end of the world." Another reality check came when, even though Long's actress mother worked regularly in commercials; he briefly worried about how signing on to do Apple's now-famous ads might affect his acting career. "I made the mistake of vocalizing it to a friend," he remembered. "I was like 'Do you think people would lose respect or I'd be a commercial guy or I'd be selling out in any way?' And I'll never forget, my friend who I love goes 'No offense, dude, but what are you selling out? Herbie Fully Loaded? You're not Johnny Depp, all right? So take it easy.' And you need those moments that bring you down to earth." (People)

Pop singer Lady GaGa has said her devotion to her live show has made her “mental”. Lady Gaga has admitted that her strive for pop perfection has led her to scream, vomit and be “quite mental”. “I’m very bossy. I don’t move on. I vomit in the bathroom before every show. I can scream my head off if I see one light fixture out. I’m very detailed - every minute of the show has got to be perfect. I want to grab the audience by the balls. This show has made me quite mental. But my focus is on the work. Not on the celebration,” GaGa told the Sydney Morning Herald before saying she hates people assuming her stage persona is just a character. “The biggest misconception about me is I’m a character or a persona, that when the lights and cameras turn off, I turn into a pumpkin. It’s simply not true. I make music and art and design all day long. Yes, I wash my face and go to sleep but when I wake up, I am always Lady Gaga.” (Handbag)

Paris Hilton has hit back at her moaning neighbors, branding them "mean" for complaining about her late-night antics. Residents in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills were left fuming after the Simple Life star threw a party earlier this month to celebrate her and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt's arrival to the street. Police broke up the bash after it culminated in damage to a number of luxury cars on the road - and just days later, cops were called again when Hilton and Reinhardt were accused of making too much noise. One neighbor is so sick of the constant disturbances he offered to pay Hilton's landlord an extra $5,000 (3,333) a month for the property - as long as the pair is evicted. But Hilton insists she is the perfect neighbor - and is upset by the residents' reactions. She tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "They are being so mean. We're the nicest neighbors in the whole world. It makes me so sad." (Teen Hollywood)
