The show – and the party – must go on, and Kate Gosselin made sure that happened over the weekend. Outside Saturday, her minivan and two cars affiliated with the TLC show Jon and Kate Plus Eight were trailed by about five cars filled with paparazzi to the Party City in Reading, Penn., where she and all eight Gosselin kids shopped for supplies. Kate kept the brood in line while buying streamers, balloons, plastic trays, candy and two Backyardigan piñatas. The celebration? A one-week-belated fifth birthday party for sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel at The Blue Falls Grove Water Park on Sunday. While Jon was at the birthday bash – as were twins Cara and Madelyn – he skipped the shopping outing but was spotted picking up the sextuplets at pre-school on Friday. The new season of Jon and Kate Plus Eight debuts Monday, May 25, and it remains to be seen how the show will address the recent problems with the couple's marriage. (People)

As the sea along the Cote D'Azur shimmered in the sunshine, Brad Pitt arrived to add some further sparkle to his familiar springtime haunt, the Cannes Film Festival. Pitt, 45, was spotted Saturday at the Hotel du Cap, having lunch on a balcony after flying in from the U.S. It is said he is staying in a chalet on the grounds of the highly exclusive hotel, just along the coast in Antibes, on the Riviera. The star is in the South of France for his fourth Cannes Film Festival in five years. And, if Angelina Jolie, 33, joins him in the next few days as is expected, this will mark the third time they have strolled the palm-lined Croisette waterfront together in as many years. On this visit Pitt is showcasing his movie from director Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds, which premieres at the festival Wednesday. The filmmaker has described Pitt's character in the WWII drama as "a hillbilly straight from the mountains of Tennessee." Pattinson Pending Also expected at the festival this week are Oscar winner Penélope Cruz, for Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's Broken Embraces, and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who's due to appear on Tuesday. Among the highlights of this year's 12-day, 62nd fest – said to be less crowded than in previous years, owing to the global economic situation – has been the world premiere of Disney-Pixar's well-received Up. Two days later, Mariah Carey lit up the Croisette with her new movie Precious, in which she undergoes a startling transformation into a dowdy social worker. Also causing talk is the screening of Heath Ledger's final film, director Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus – which was completed with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell playing Ledger's character in its dream sequences. Katie Price and Peter Andre are reportedly in crisis talks following their split last week. The couple, who both fled the UK following the announcement of their break-up, are returning for talks on Thursday to discuss how best to care for their children, Harvey, Junior and Princess. In a phone call to arrange the meeting, Peter Andre allegedly said "I'm doing this for the sake of the kids, not you." The pair are thought to be discussing the possibility of arranging joint custody of their three children. In other Katie and Peter news, fired Apprentice contestant Mona Lewis said that Katie Price revealed she was splitting from Peter eight weeks ago. Apparently, Katie told her: "I may as well tell you that me and Pete are splitting up." Mona said the former glamour model was "in love" with someone else. "Katie said she wanted this new man, but also her family life with Peter Andre," Mona said. Sources close to the star say that the object of Katie's affection is married stable owner Andrew Gould, who is also her dressage coach. Teresa Giudice insists she's just a sweet Jersey girl who usually doesn't let anger get the best of her. However, cameras from The Real Housewives of New Jersey did catch the mother of three flipping a table aimed at the show's resident vixen, Danielle Staub, during a very heated, profanity-filled argument. While none of the Housewives will reveal exactly what went down during that exchange, Teresa tells me, "I've never done that in my life. That was my first time. "That's normally not me, but I guess when I'm pushed to a certain level…" she says. “I’m so sweet. I have a heart of gold and I'm really a great person." How are things with Danielle right now? "She blogged the other night and I got a little annoyed," Teresa says. "But then I was like, I'm not even going to let her get to me. I'll just save it for the reunion." Teresa also wants to clear up a misconception you may have of her about money. In the first episode, she's shown buying $120,000 worth of furniture—in cash! "Who walks around with $120,000 cash?" she laughs. "It was just a deposit! The rest went on credit." And then there's Teresa's derriere. While discussing the possibility of getting breast implants during the first episode, she noted that her husband of eight years, Joe, doesn't really mind her lack of cleavage. "He loves my butt," she says. "I always did have a big butt. Do you remember that song back in the day? There was a song that had my name in it: ‘Teresa's got a big ol' butt.' Everybody in high school used to sing that to me. Everybody liked my ass." (Eonline)
