Jen Schefft is a Bachelorette no longer. The two-time reality TV star wed Joe Waterman in an intimate ceremony Friday night at a restaurant in Chicago, according to People. Schefft, 32, and Waterman, a 35-year-old trader, met on a blind date in February 2008 and announced their engagement in September. Jen was previously engaged to Andrew Firestone, who popped the question during the 2003 season finale of The Bachelor. She also turned down a proposal as the star of The Bachelorette in 2005 and wrote a book called Better Single Than Sorry. Firestone and his new bride, Ivana Bozilovic, welcomed a son, Brooks, in March 2009. (Eonline)
Natalie Portman isn't one to Milk a rumor for publicity. The 27-year-old actress is firmly denying rumors that she and reigning Best Actor Sean Penn are an item. "Sean Penn is a friend and colleague," the star of the upcoming New York, I Love You said in a statement to Extra Friday. "The reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue. I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so." And the rumors have been out there—a tabloid report that the May-December duo were canoodling in a West Hollywood bar barely two weeks after Penn, 48, filed for a legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn, metamorphosed into full-fledged "they're together" stories. We know that Penn and Portman served on the 2008 Cannes Film Festival jury together, but otherwise...only anonymous sources are claiming to know anything else. Portman split up with folk-rock singer Devendra Banhart last fall. (Eonline)
Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline is hitting the gym hard in a desperate bid to shed the extra weight he's gained since his 2006 split from the pop superstar. The former backing dancer and wannabe rapper has seen his figure balloon in recent years, piling on around 50 pounds. But he is reportedly keen to get back in shape and has embarked on a grueling work out schedule. A pal tells America's Star magazine, "Kevin never was a gym bunny - he stayed in shape by dancing. He's desperate to slim down, so he's back at it three hours a day." (Teen Hollywood)
Shia Labeouf lost part of one of his fingers in the 2008 summer car crash that mangled his hand. The Transformers star has undergone three surgeries to fix his smashed hand and now he's resigned to the fact he'll never have the full use of his bandaged left hand. He has hazy memories of the night he flipped his truck in Hollywood, but he goes recall one gory detail. The actor tells Playboy magazine, "What I remember of the accident is my finger lying in the street, and fireman putting me into an ambulance and my going into surgery.”My hand got jammed under the car, and a slice of the finger came off. So I just picked it up and showed it to the fireman... It was really insane-looking. "The firemen were like, 'Get this dude to a hospital.'" He admits the timing of the accident, which almost claimed his life, was bizarre: "You just get the call from Steven (Spielberg), saying, 'Hey, it's (Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull) the biggest thing financially I've ever been involved in,' and the next day, you're on your hands and knees looking for a piece of your hand." (Teen Hollywood)
Socialite Kim Kardashian has no qualms about going under the knife - she is already planning cosmetic surgery procedures for the future. The reality TV star is even more determined after seeing the results of her stepdad Bruce Jenner's recent facelift. She tells Usmagazine.com, "I am down for it. One day I will definitely get it. "I would probably get my boobs done after I have kids. I think every woman needs a good lift after they have kids, so I would start with that. You never know what I would need - it depends on what I would look like when I get older. But I would definitely do something." (Teen Hollywood)
Ever wonder how tabloids get such juicy stories? A reporter with the National Enquirer allegedly checked Brooke Shields' mother out of her nursing room on Thursday by posing as a friend, according to People. Teri Shields, 75, suffers from dementia. "I intend to take every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act," said Brooke, who hasn't pressed any charges yet. Police were called to the nursing home by its staff to help look for the elder Shields, who had been allowed to leave but was gone for an "extended period of time." They found Teri unharmed chatting with a freelance journalist at a restaurant next door to the New Jersey assisted-living center. The journalist and a photographer were questioned by police. The incident is still under investigation. (Eonline)

Entertainer Dolly Parton says she's expanding her philanthropic work with children through a partnership with the United Way of America. Parton joined Brian Gallagher, chief executive of the national nonprofit, during a conference Friday in Detroit to announce that her Imagination Library and the United Way have set a goal to provide free books monthly to 1 million children by 2014. That's double what the literacy initiative now serves. The program Parton founded in the mid-'90s in her home state of Tennessee operates in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Parton also performed her hit 9 to 5 for conference attendees. She recently spent several weeks in New York working on 9 to 5: The Musical, a stage version of the 1980 movie in which she starred. (Daily Record)
College of William & Mary students has won the world record for most people to dance to the singer's Thriller simultaneously in one place. The 242-person routine was organized by longtime Jackson fan Kevin Dua, who was notified Friday by Guinness World Records of the accomplishment. The previous record was 147 people in an event held last summer at a British secondary school. Dua, 21, spent the better part of the school year orchestrating the event, which was held April 19 at the college in Williamsburg, in eastern Virginia. "I've been a Michael Jackson fan since I was 5 years old. It was something I grew up around," Dua said Friday in a telephone interview. Dua also was inspired by Thrill the World, an event held each October in which groups of Thriller fans gather around the world to recreate the 1983 video, a horror-film spoof featuring Jackson dancing among a troupe of zombies. Last year's event included more than 4,100 dancers in 10 nations, according to the Thrill the World event website. Dua recruited about nine friends to serve as trainers and to lead participants in the 6-minute dance routine. The event was thoroughly documented to Guinness specifications, including numerous still photos and video from multiple angles so "they were officially able to examine whether everyone was performing the entire dance routine correctly. Everyone did." Except for the group leaders, all dancers learned their steps in about two hours, Dua said. Dua, an Alexandria, Va., native who is graduating this weekend with a history degree, said the best part of the event was that it gave a diverse group of people — most of them weren't even born when Thriller debuted — the opportunity to share an experience and have some fun. He plans to donate his official Guinness certificate to the college. (Daily Record)
The Discovery World museum in Milwaukee plans to donate part of the proceeds from this weekend's attendance to the charity started by "American Idol" finalist Danny Gokey. The Milwaukee native was among the top three "American Idol" finalists before being voted off Wednesday. He tried out for the show four weeks after his wife, Sophia, died following surgery for a heart condition. Gokey started Sophia's Heart Foundation after she died. Discovery World President Joel Brennan says the museum and guests want to thank Gokey for the positive attention he's brought to the community. The museum will donate $1 for every general admission ticket sold Saturday and Sunday. (Launch)
Just in case you were worried that Britney Spears couldn't possibly afford to pay all those legal bills and lead her usual swanky lifestyle—fear not. Sure, Spears' estate shelled out more than $3 million in legal fees between Feb. 1, 2008, and Dec. 31, including the $625,000 she was ordered to hand over to Kevin Federline for his family court expenses. But she had plenty left over, considering she racked up bills of $447,634 for security, $49,387 for home repairs and maintenance, $105,000 to rent her Malibu digs and $178,818 for childcare. Other expenses that qualify Spears' status as rich: $188,556 on assistants and other employees, $285,594 in mortgage payments, $5,998 for "decorations" and $1.06 million in "miscellaneous business expenses." All told, Spears spent upward of $10 million during those 11 months. It's good to be the pop princess. (Eonline)
Rapper T.I. will be coming to Arkansas by May 26 — to serve a federal prison sentence. The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., will be serving his year-and-one-day sentence at the Forrest City low-security federal prison. Paperwork filed in his federal court case shows he has until noon on May 26 to report for his sentence. Prison officials did not immediately return a call for comment. Harris pleaded guilty to the charges after he tried to buy a stash of machine guns and silencers to protect himself after his best friend was killed. He will also pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence. You've heard T.I. on songs like Rubber Band Man and Live Your Life. (Daily Record)
Jurors acquitted Hollywood actor and former British soccer player Vinnie Jones of assault on Friday. Jones testified he thought the man he's charged with assaulting was going to hit him with a glass like "his mates had just done." Jones, 44, of Los Angeles, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault for a Dec. 4 bar fight with Juan Trevino-Barrera, 24, of Sioux Falls, at Wiley's Tavern. Jurors started deliberating late Friday morning and returned with a verdict after about two hours. Surveillance video from the bar showed a bloodied Jones punching Barrera in a hallway minutes after Barrera's friends hit Jones with a beer glass and beer bottle, causing deep cuts to Jones' nose and forehead. The prosecutor said the attack on Barrera was unprovoked, but the defense lawyer argued it was self defense. Jones said he was in South Dakota to hunt pheasants, something he had wanted to do since he started hunting as a child in England. The trip was a surprise gift from his wife. The hunting party went to Wiley's the night of arrival. Jones said he posed for photos with locals and signed autographs and eventually went over to a pool table and asked to join. "The response was quite cold," he said. Jones said one of the two men at the table said, "You're Juggernaut from 'X-men.' You're not getting in the game." The other man told him to go back to his friends and then Barrera, the third member of the group, "storms up" and said, "'If you're wearing that LA Dodgers hat, you've got a problem.' I said, 'If it pleases you, I'll turn the hat around,"' Jones said. Barrera started using profanities, one of the other men spit on Jones and hit him in the face with a beer mug, Jones said, demonstrating to jurors with a water pitcher. The other man then hit him with a beer bottle, he said. "Now there's so much blood, there's girls screaming, there's guys going mad," Jones said. "I knew I was in over the top here and was in a bad situation." Jones said he wanted to leave because a woman was yelling that someone had a knife, but the bar manager walked him toward the restroom to wash his cuts. He said in the hallway they encountered Barrera, who asked, "Have you had enough old man?" With the screams of a knife in back of him and the much larger Barrera in front of him in the small corridor, Jones said he expected "100 percent" Barrera was going to hit him with a glass in his left hand. "I thought he was going to do what his mates had just done," Jones said. "I thought he was going to smash me with a glass when he came past." He said his decision to lunge at Barrera "was driven by fear." Jones said he was taken to a hospital and received 70 stitches because his forehead was "laid open" and his nose was "hanging off" from the cuts — scars from which are still visible. Jones was charged with three alternate counts of simple assault but could have been convicted of just one. It carries a maximum punishment of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine. Barrera, a convicted felon, acknowledged under questioning that he signed a contract with a tabloid newspaper to sell his story and would make more money from it if Jones is found guilty. Jones' movie credits include Snatch, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and X-Men: The Last Stand as the character Juggernaut. (Daily Record)
LAST WEEK:
It's a good thing Pink and her husband Carey Hart have a sense of humor. The singer, who acknowledges in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres airing Friday that she and her ex are a couple again, says she finds it funny to perform her hit song "So What" – which contains some choice words for Hart. "He's in the audience so when I sing, 'He's a tool,' now that's my favorite line," she tells DeGeneres. "Hi, Honey, that's you." When the talk show host offers her congratulations on being "happy" and "back together" after splitting up, Pink says, "We are. Thank you." Pink and Hart got married in Costa Rica in January 2006 and announced their split two years later, but, "We didn't do the paperwork deal," says Pink. Asked if she and the motocross racer would consider having another wedding ceremony, Pink says coyly, "I love a party." (People)
Still in character, Natalie Portman has been seen cavorting in LA with toxic lady-killer Sean Penn. Now the actress, who just played doomed Queen Anne Boleyn, has bought a medieval manor in Los Feliz for $3.25 million. The castle like manse is 4,866 square feet with four bedrooms and cathedral ceilings. There are two guesthouses, a pool, a courtyard and state-of-the-art security, which presumably precludes the need for executioners. (Page Six)
Tori Spelling got chewed out when she finally met up with Mary Jo Eustace, ex-wife of Spelling's husband, Dean McDermott. "I told her I thought [her] behavior thus far had been the height of insensitivity and rudeness," Eustace writes in her upcoming book, "Divorce Sucks" (Adams Media). "I tried to explain that we were a real family, with a new baby and a substantial history, and there were serious consequences to all of this . . . The toughest moment was when my husband kept calling her to see how the meeting was going. She told him it was 'going great' and joked that we were quickly becoming 'soul mates.' I left the room on that one." In 2005, McDermott and Eustace had adopted a baby girl and Spelling was newly married to actor-writer Charlie Shanian when the pair met on the set of a Lifetime movie and began an affair that wrecked both marriages. The craziest rumor Melissa Rycroft has ever heard about herself? "That I was doing Playboy!" she tells Usmagazine.com. "Not true. My father would kill me. Not only would I never do it, my father would never look at me the same ever again!" As she prepares for next week's Dancing With the Stars finale, she says she is trying not to put any pressure on herself. "I'm completely excited because I've got Tony [Dovolani, her partner] to completely understand the word 'fun,'" she tells Us. "We're going to go out and have fun." Rycroft, who was famously dumped by Bachelor Jason Mesnick, says she is just thrilled at how far she's come. "Eleven weeks ago, I was sitting in my cubicle doing Power Point presentations," she says. "I don't think that anybody could have scripted that I was going to be here." "I can't fathom right now if I actually win," she goes on. "I don't know what's going to happen to me if I actually win the trophy. I mean, there's a place on my mantel for it!" Her post-DWTS plans? "I'm going on vacation!" she says. "I'm turning off my cell phone. I'm not turning on the radio or the TV, but I'm going back home [to Dallas] for a little bit." Rycroft, who is now dating Tye Strickland, also says she never thinks of ex Mesnick. Says the dancer, "I know I'm happy in my life and my situation." (US Weekly)
Turns out, burglars did try to break into Lindsay Lohan's Hollywood home. Usmagazine.com has confirmed that two unidentified men -- one wearing a baseball cap and the other with a bandana over his face -- tried to enter the actress' home around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Surveillance photos captured a 4-door gray Dodge Magnum station wagon with paper plates and custom wheels parked in front of the home. "While the driver stayed inside, the passenger suspect stepped out of the vehicle, walked through a gate and entered the backyard of the residence," police said in a statement. "Investigators believed that the suspect tried to gain entry by using an unknown type tool to pry open a back window and door. After the unsuccessful attempt, the suspects drove off." Anyone with information about this attempt burglary is asked to call Hollywood Burglary Detectives at (213) 972-2930. During off-hours, calls may be directed to 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Earlier in the week, Los Angeles police were notified that someone tripped an alarm at Lohan's house. When police arrived, they initially thought the home was ransacked. They then concluded the mess inside belonged to Lohan and was not the result of burglars. (US Weekly)
Oh, Shannen Doherty, we know you're a lot of things, but a homewrecker? Really? Seems to be the case, according to Star Magazine. Doherty is currently dating photographer Kurt Iswarienko, who just recently divorced his wife, fashion designer Taryn Band. Shannen's rep swears that she became involved with him after his divorce, but that just isn't so, says Taryn's mom, Debra. She says: "Shannen broke up a marriage… and that's all I'm going to say!" Bringing the 90210 drama to your own life are you, Shannen? Wouldn't be the first time! (You also got it on with co-star Julian McMahon while he was still married. Remember?) (Perez Hilton)
For the second time in less than a week, Paris Hilton turned her new neighborhood upside down -- this time cops were called to put an end to a nuclear argument. It happened at 1 AM this morning. LAPD officers were called to the home of Paris' BF, Doug Reinhardt. Paris moved in on Monday. Apparently, Paris and Doug had such a screaming argument the neighbors couldn't sleep. When cops arrived, we're told Paris and Doug wouldn't open the front gate, so they hopped the fence. Paris and Doug opened the door, cops spoke with them and the loud arguing stopped. A TMZ spy says earlier in the evening, Paris and Doug were at an event in Hollywood and had a pretty intense argument. Apparently, they took it home. The night Paris moved in, there was a ridiculously loud party and neighbors complained to cops. The next morning, six cars on the street were keyed. (TMZ)
Paris Hilton has a perfectly good explanation for the loud screams that drew cops to her house in the early hours last week -- she thought her beloved Tinkerbell was dead. TMZ spoke with Paris who claims she got a disturbing phone call late last night from someone who told her Tink had been run over and killed on Mullholland Drive -- but it turns out the call was just a tasteless prank. Still -- Paris claims she was freaking out and her boyfriend Doug Reinhardt was just trying to calm her down. As TMZ first reported, cops were called to Paris and Doug's place after neighbors say the couple's yelling and screaming kept them up all night. It was the second time cops had been called to the house this week. For the record -- Tinkerbell is doing just fine. (TMZ)
Selena Gomez has poured scorn on reports she's romancing Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, insisting she's sworn off dating other stars. The teenagers sparked rumors they were dating last month when they were spotted laughing and playing around together in Vancouver, Canada. But Gomez now insists her brief fling with Nick Jonas has put her off relationships with male stars. She says, "I used to say that I wanted someone cute and nice, and an actor too. But now I think it would be good for me to date someone who's not in the business." (Teen Hollywood)
Looking like a lot of her classmates – giddy and irreverent, wearing a silly necklace of Blow-Pop lollipops strung together with curly gift ribbon – Bristol Palin stepped toward the stage in Wasilla Sports Complex Thursday night to receive her high school diploma, more a worried mom than a jubilant teen. "Where's my baby?" Bristol mouthed, searching the two front rows where her family sat until she finally spotted son Tripp near the backstage door, where Bristol's Aunt Heather was feeding the infant a bottle. With a wave to the little one she alternately calls "Handsome" and "My Guy," Bristol crossed the stage – and crossed "graduate high school" off her to-do list. "I knew it would be hard work, but I knew I was going to do it," Bristol, 19, tells PEOPLE. Her mom, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice-presidential nominee, was not always so sure. Palin said in an interview that one of her first thoughts when Bristol announced her surprise pregnancy last spring was, Oh, there goes her education. "And that's why I'm so proud of her … really relieved," Palin says. "It's been a challenging and exciting year – her senior year – and I'm just so pleased that we are where we are today." Bristol boasted a 3.497 G.P.A., regretting only that she was "point zero-zero-something" away from graduating with Honors. A budding activist in the cause to prevent teen pregnancy, she says she hopes to go to an area college for a two-year business degree and then a job, possibly in real estate. (People)
Rebecca Romijn started her career as a model – and, following in her footsteps, her 4-month-old daughters have now posed for their first fashion photo shoot. Featured with her girls for an InStyle magazine spread, the actress says that Mom is her most rewarding role to date. "Being a mom makes me feel whole and like I understand the meaning of life," Romijn, 36, tells InStyle for the June Sexy issue, on newsstands May 22. "All I want to do is stare into my babies' eyes nonstop." Romijn, who has already lost 60 lbs. since giving birth to Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip in December, is nearly back to her pre-baby body – but says she doesn't worry too much about her figure. "I'm a jeans size up from where I usually am, but there's nothing about it that freaks me out," she says. "I feel as sexy as I have ever felt. I've always said that sexy is having a really strong sense of yourself and never taking yourself too seriously." As for how her husband, Jerry O'Connell, is handling a house full of women, Romijn praises him as a wonderful dad. "He's got endless amounts of energy, and he's having such a blast with these girls." Just don't ask O'Connell what it will be like when the girls are older. Jokes Romijn: "He's determined not to let them ever date while he is alive." (People)
Exit Kelly Monaco. Enter Holly Madison. The Girls Next Door star will become the newest Las Vegas headliner beginning in June when she replaces Monaco in the sultry revue PEEPSHOW, Madison tells PEOPLE. "I feel like this is perfect for me," she said Thursday. "I've always wanted to be in a really classy, sexy burlesque show." Monaco had signed a three-month contract to star in PEEPSHOW, and Madison's deal will be similar. The Vegas production has quickly become a Dancing With the Stars sorority of sorts. It currently stars Season 1 winner Monaco, 32, as well as Season 5 runner-up Melanie Brown, 33. PEEPSHOW, which features topless dancers, began last month inside Planet Hollywood. Neither Monaco nor Brown is topless in the show. Madison is also expected to keep covered up. "It's going to be a blast," Madison, 30, said, adding that she feels her DWTS experience will help. "It's given me a lot more confidence. From being on that show, it will definitely help me stick to a really strict workout routine." While on a current season, Madison suffered a rib injury that restricted some of her movements, but she is now healed, she says. (People)
Bridget Jones is heading for London's West End as the original film's producers look at bringing the eternal singleton to the stage in 2011. Renée Zellweger isn't expected to reprise her role in the musical, so producers are looking more a new star to fill her size-14 granny knickers. At a reading of the script in The Ivy's private members club, Jack Davenport was brought in to play bad guy Daniel Cleaver, and there were reportedly cameo appearances from Harry Enfield and Victoria Wood. However, the people behind the production say casting for the three main roles is still a long way off. The music will be a mix of the classics featured in the film and new songs penned especially for the show, while the script is currently being worked on by Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding and Working Title, the company behind the films. "We're very excited with what we've seen but it's early days," said Working Title chairman Eric Fellner. (British Glamour)
At least that is what one production staffer is suggesting. Gaining fame from her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter flicks, Emma Watson thinks she is the shiz as she tends to be rude and "testy" with the people on set, according to reports. The cast and crew are already working on the final two installments of the franchise, and Watson has just been getting worse with time. "Emma is even more moody than usual," says a source. "She's always complaining, showing up late and has upset both cast and crew members with her rudeness. … She's really become a big diva. … Everyone's sick of it." The only way to deal with a diva is to fight like a diva! Just tell her know that she needs to wise up and shut her effin muggle mouth, or no one is gonna hire her bony ass after this shiz is done. DMX has been released from a Phoenix jail after serving a 90-day sentence for felony convictions. The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, left a Maricopa County jail Thursday on a $10,000 bond. Simmons' lawyer, Glenn Allen, said his client was in good spirits and was still in Maricopa County. "He's extremely happy that he's home," Allen said. "We look forward to being able to handle his case with him out of custody." A spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says Simmons will likely return to court to face charges added while in jail. Simmons was booked on a charge of probation violation and aggravated assault for allegedly throwing a tray at a jail officer. (Daily Record)
City prosecutors have charged Gerard Butler with misdemeanor battery in connection with a scuffle with a paparazzo. Records show prosecutors filed the charge in a Hollywood courthouse on Wednesday. Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said Butler faces up to six months in jail if convicted. Mateljan said the Scottish-born actor had a run-in with a photographer early on Oct. 7 in Hollywood after leaving a premiere party for the film RocknRolla. Butler's manager, Alan Siegel, said that the actor was forced to have his driver stop the car after a paparazzo repeatedly sped through red lights and almost struck two pedestrians. The actor's attorney, Blair Berk, said Butler is not required to — and won't — appear in court on the charge. Butler, 39, is perhaps best-known for his role in 2006's hit 300, and starred in RocknRolla. Butler's next big screen release will be this summer's The Ugly Truth, a romantic comedy also starring Katherine Heigl. (Daily Record)
